(Chicago, Ill) — The Chicago Republican Party announced that GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy won another Republican National Committee debate - albeit by a somewhat smaller margin than he had previously - in a straw poll taken of Chicago’s Republican partisans at the city party's second debate watch party.
The poll, taken at the conclusion of an RNC debate hosted at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, CA, allowed Chicago attendees to select one candidate they believed to have made the strongest statements and best arguments on the issues and their candidacy as GOP Presidential nominee. The results are as follows:
Vivek Ramaswamy - 44.0% (57.5% in August Debate)
Ron DeSantis - 19.5% (22.5 in August)
Mike Pence - 5% (10% in August)
Tim Scott - 0% (2.5% in August)
Nikki Haley - 17% (2.5% in August)
Doug Burgum - 14.5% (2.5% in August)
Chris Christie - 0% (2.5% in August)
Last night's watch party at the Billy Goat Inn on Madison Street, was the second in a series of events that the Chicago Republican Party is hosting this coming election season to bolster support for the party in Chicago.
Chicago Republican Party Chairman Steve Boulton said, "It was another great turnout and an even more boisterous Republican crowd. We will continue to host events around the city for the Republican Presidential debates yet to come. The Chicago GOP is looking forward to the 2024 election cycle, as we really sense a change in the sentiment of Chicago’s voters. Chicagoans are suffering and are fed up."
The next GOP debate will be held on Wednesday, November 8, located in Miami, FL. The Chicago Republican Party will again host a watch party and conduct a third straw poll.
