End of Discussion with Guy Benson and Mary Katherine Ham

Friday, July 10, 2015 at 04:00 PM

Join the Illinois Policy Institute in welcoming the dynamic Mary Katharine Ham and Guy Benson, authors of “End of Discussion: How the Left's Outrage Industry Shuts Down Debate, Manipulates Voters, and Makes America Less Free (and Fun).”

Ham and Benson are two of the most recognizable and influential young conservatives in American media today. Ham is the contributing editor for HotAir.com, a conservative and libertarian news site. An award-winning journalist and blogger, she has made her career goal to discover the formula for talking about politics without being a blowhard. Benson is the political editor at TownHall.com and a regular contributor to Fox News. He was named one of the “30 under 30” conservatives in America by Red Alert Politics in 2013 and to Forbes magazine’s “30 under 30” law and policy list in 2015.

On Friday, July 10, they’ll discuss their latest book where they explore how the progressive movement strategically manipulates the media and public to shut down opposing viewpoints, making America less free.

The Illinois Policy Institute has long worked to give taxpayers and liberty ideas a voice in the conversation of government. Join us for a special evening with Ham and Benson to discuss how conservatives can continue to take back the moral high ground from the left.

5th Annual Safe Haven 5K Race With Commissioner Dan Patlak

Sunday, July 12, 2015 at 06:00 PM
Douglas Park in Chicago, IL

Team Patlak Republicans is standing up for Veterans who have protected our nation.

A Safe Haven Foundation is an organization based in Chicago which assists homeless people, especially veterans who may be suffering from the many causes of homelessness including various addictions. A Safe Haven Foundation assists in recovery and rehabilitation so that these men and women who have served our country can be brought back to full participation as engaged citizens.

For many years, Commissioner Dan Patlak has been concerned about the plight of returning veterans who have given so much to ensure our freedom and safety, and yet have difficulty assimilating back home. Here is an event I participate in to help this important cause, and I ask you to join my team.

Sunday, July 12, 8 am at Douglas Park.

Thank you in advance for supporting our Veterans in Need!
