Chicago Republicans

Mayor Daley must have been living on Planet Uranus for the past decade since he fails to recognize the direct relationship between the Chicago gun ban law and the increased criminality and violence on Chicago's south and west sides. As I am writing this article Chicago Tribune reports that three people were killed on the South Shore.  I dread reading the Tribune for this reason. The consequences of the Chicago ban on guns are crystal clear. While law abiding citizens respect the law-- criminals don’t. Thus, law abiding citizens are exposed at the mercy of thugs who don't give a damn about the law or the Chicago way...Policemen are outnumbered. Definitely they do not have the ability to protect everyone.

The  recent case of Thomas Wortham, the 30 year old policeman that was killed last week proves the previous statement. This outstanding young man has just returned from a second duty tour in Iraq and bought a new motorcycle that the thugs wanted.  Wortham was not intimidated he would not give up his motorcycle...

If policemen and military trained personnel cannot defend themselves against thugs, the question is : how can regular law abiding citizens with no military training can?

Evidently, everyone needs to be his own policeman. The Constitutions gives us the power to protect ourselves. No city ordinance should override that. It looks like the government is having a difficult time protecting its citizens in Chicago as well as Arizona.

Chicago despite its restrictive laws is a national leader in shootings and murders. While Phoenix, Arizona is the city with the highest kidnappings in the world. Embarrassing. While America is protecting Iraqis, Haitians, Bosnians and other citizens around the world our citizens are in desperate need of protection.

One simple answer to that is especially for Chicago is: the abolition of gun ban.  Personally, I do not think that criminals will exhibit the same type of audacity if they are aware of the fact that the other side has guns too...

Switzerland has virtually no crime, and it is the nation with the highest rate of gun ownership per capita.  The Swiss require every adult male to possess a gun. In fact, when Hitler wanted to invade Switzerland during WWII in order to access its gold supply. At the advice of the military intelligence reports he gave up. For the reason that an invasion would have been a fiasco since the Swiss citizens had guns.

Historically the Swiss were employed as mercenaries for they were extremely belligerent and courageous. Louis XI "The Spider King” of France has done it in a successful way. Not to mention that the Pope in Rome has employed the services of the Swiss as they are currently responsible for his security.

The founding fathers were aware of the importance of gun ownership. That is why they empowered the citizens of this great nation with the sacred right to defend themselves.

Really, I think that  hardworking law abiding citizens of Chicago deserve the kind of protection our elected officials enjoy. If that cannot be provided give us the right to defend ourselves!
