Demetra DeMonte, Republican National Committeewoman from Illinois on the Republican National Committee, and Secretary of the Midwest Region of the Republican National Committee, abruptly resigned as Director of Coalitions for the Illinois Republican Party this weekend. Under Ms. DeMonte's successful leadership, the Coalitions program resulted in a number of effective training programs for Coalition members and an expansion of the number of participating coalition groups, including the founding of new groups.
Several sources report that the resignation came during a heated exchange with State Chairman Pat Brady at a State Central Committee meeting this weekend. The resignation was immediately accepted by Chairman Brady. Stormy weather is erupting all around the GOP.
