Other than the unemployment rate being 9.6% and 54,000 jobs lost this August things are going well. Not!
How can America prosper if there are no jobs?
The economic priority of the Obama administration should have been job creation from November 2008. The first stimulus should have been about the infrastructure. Not the last one. This loks to me like a big union payout stimulus! Notice that the stimulus would have passed anyhow since the Democrats control Congress since 2006. What I am saying imagine if the money would have been employed for some good use instead of channeling it towards the 2012 apocalypse, meaning bogus stuff!
True the infrastructure in America in some areas is in precarious condition. It is embarrassing to drive on the Ohio turnpike, and be charged $10. Not to mention that some areas of Chicago have so many pot holes, that makes one wonder about what the alderman are doing with the funds allocated for the infrastructure.
It is embarrassing to take the metro in Chicago. The precarious state of this transportation mode has no place in America of 2010. Public transportation reflects the quality of the services provided by the government to its citizens.
Since, here in Chicago we have the highest tax in the nation I think we deserve better public services. But that will not happen unless we elect politicians that are committed to service the public.
I know everyone is working hard, for most of us are not living on trust funds and we have multiple responsibility. But when it comes to our own welfare we should definitely scrutinize the people that we empower to represent us.
Thus, if politicians do not practice what they preach, they should be replaced with competent individuals that represent the best interest of the people!
America is a phenomenal countries with tremendous natural and intellectual resources , it is time to put them to good use. I can wait for this November and 2012!
