Ahmadinejad "Keeps John Out of Teheran!"Posted by: Lumi Boldovici on Jan 06, 2010 Tagged in: Untagged

Two weeks ago Ahmadinejad in a rare moment of lucidity and coherence stated: "European politicians are one stupider than the other,"(Haaretz) . Considering the unprecedented political latitude given to the Iranian regime currently. Ahmadinejad' s statement comes as no surprise and is understandable.
This week however it seems that at least one American politician is endeavoring to fall right into that category ... John Kerry's intention to undertake a trip to Iran and bestow more concessions to the Iranian theocratic regime that is blatantly defying all International concerted efforts to cease the uranium enrichment program and halt their nuclear ambitions . Was denied by the Iranian government . Who by the way has been killing Iranian citizens that protest the failed economic and political policies of the Islamic Republic established in 1979. Courtesy of the failed policy of no other than pacifist Jimmy Carter.
It is refreshing and encouraging to know that the demonstrators no longer burn the American flag and shout "Death to America' but death to the dictator"! Time is indeed the great healer and problem solver!
While Ayatollah Khomeini is lavishing in the palace of the Shah and has numerous equestrian collections , the rest of the population is living in an environment that is to some extent worse than when Cyrus the Great and Darius were leading the Persian Empire. Everyone is well aware of this , except of course John Kerry who has little understanding of the dynamics of foreign policy and consequently the Iranian Regime. No doubt Kerry's intention was good but ill advised .
For, as Thucydides observed centuries ago, "it is a general rule of human nature that people despise those who treat them well and look up to those who make no concessions." truer words were never spoken.
Understand, the Iranian regime could care less that the president's middle name is Hussein or that his speech in Cairo claimed that are seven million Muslims living in America. Iran is not Iowa! This kind of rhetoric has no political effect. On the contrary, talking political nonsense and throwing your country to the wolves will score zero political points in Iran. As evidenced by the current defiance of Iran of the deadline set by US and United Nation. On the contrary it is the Iranian government that has issued an ultimatum and denied Kerry access to their country.
Iran claimed yesterday that the West had given it another month to accept a United Nations-brokered nuclear deal - as Tehran defiantly set its own end-of-January deadline for world powers to agree to its already rejected counter proposals. Trumpeting Iran's hardened stance with confidence, Manouchehr Mottaki, the foreign minister, warned that the Islamic republic would otherwise start producing more highly enriched uraniumto fuel a Tehran medical research reactor. "This is an ultimatum," he proclaimed.
